Non Hypenated word break User Dictionary

Question

Hi

I am using the user Dictionary. In that dictionary we have the word "cousins" not to be hypenated. But in our file that word came as hypenated. We have not insert any optional hypen in that word. But "cousins" word break.

My Analysis.

1. I save that InDesign file to IDML and that word "cousins" not hypenated

2. I copy that paragraph and placed next that in that cases also "cousins" word not hypenated.

Anyone come across this kind of issue? or its bug in InDesign please check.

Examine your paragraph style options > Hyphenation. What are its settings?

I recommend setting Hyphenation to

Words with at least 9 letters

With at least 3 letters on previous line

With at least 4 letters on the next line

Hyphen limit: 1

Hyphen Zone 1p6 or .25in

Last word and capitalized words, etc: turn all three switches OFF

Also: check to see what spell check language the paragraph style is using.
