numbered list vs strikethrough or underline

I'm using Indesign version 14.02. I have a question about the number list feature. I want that my list of numbers to have a box behind the numbers. So I created a character style with a strikethrough line. Unfortunately, Indesign doesn't bring the strikethrough or underline options to the numbers of this list or maybe I'm missing something.

I would call it a workaround vs. a solution*--but a clever workaround. 😁

When you get to double digits, you will have to make either another style or manually edit the indent.

*A solution would be for InDesign to honor the character style settings on the numbered lists.

Just for the laughs. After I found this solution. I was having trouble with the alignment of the numeral list. And I found an article from indesign secrets, from 2013 the mention this bug. Soo.. It is a feature... 🙂

Also in the article has a coment from somenone with the name of David Creamer... Is it you?

If so. Could you share the document that you created? It's not longer avaiable at you server.

You are not missing anything--I don't know if I would call it a "bug" but it is an "undesired feature".

I found a solution. To create a box behind the numbers, I should use the paragraph rule function.

At the beging of the video you can see "bug" 🙂 and the solution at 1:12.

The character style of the number:

Do oyou use a specific one, then it must include or not define a strikethrough/underline if the paragraph has such a style.
