Object layer when adding a new layer in a psd

Community Beginner ,

I've made a product mockup psd with different labels as layers in a psd. Then using Object Layer options in InDesign to turn on the right layer for the product.

When I add a new label/layer to the psd all the placed items in InDesign lose their layer options and are blank.

Is there a way to add additional layers and for Indesign to remember the layers for items already placed?

Thanks

Wayne

Add a few blank layers when you create the PSD. If you need them, InDesign will already recognize them and if you don't, no harm done.

I'd also recommend using layer comps for an easier time.

Thanks Bob

I'll add additional layers this time so that future changes will be fine. I'll also check out layer comps
