Hi, I am working on a document and whenever I create a new rectangle or ellipse the object shows as transparent even though the opacity is set to 100%. There are no transparencies applied under the FX section either - I cannot seem to find a solution to this issue!

Hello! I figured it out - I'm not sure how or where the transparency was applied - however there was an option under Objects to "clear all transparencies" and this fixed the problem.

You say transparent, so it is filled with a colour or image and that shows what is beneath? Standard, of course, frames have a fill of [none]...

Yes, the object fill is a colour and there is no stroke colour or lineweight.

Is this object applied a tint and set to multiple? Properties panel is not showing theses attributes.

I am unsure if a tint is applied and or set to multiple - I am a beginner in Indesign, unsure where to find tint.

With object selected, swatch panel will show tints. The effect panel will show a transparent mode applied.

An object is considered transparent when any of these attributes are applied: drop shadows, glows, bevels, gradations, opacity, etc. And this applies to the object, fill and stroke.

If every new frame is transparent once it is created, you can set the default for that frame by closing all documents, and set the desired attributes, without any transpareny applied.

Ok. I was able to make it stop. Somehow an Object Style was being applied suddenly. I went into Object Style and clicked on the "Clear Overrides".
