Odd Pixelation on Export from InDesign

Total newb here, but I'm running into a situation that makes no sense to me. I have created a vector image in Illustrator (300ppi) for a print logo. When I place the image in InDesign and then export to a PDF, my logo becomes distorted and strangely pixelated. I have tried lowering the resolution, altering the placement...nothing helps. I am using my most recent version of Acrobat to view the document, and still, the problem persists. I keep getting these little nubbins on the sides (see below). Normally, these edges are smooth. Any suggestions?

If your image is being flattened it's most likely being converted to pixels.

Make sure your PDF export is set to Acrobat version 5.0 or above.

Vectors don't have resolution do I think we need to clarify that this is a vector graphic; that it is saved as AI or PDF; and that it was properly placed into InDesign.

After that we need the PDF export settings.

I was not exporting it as AI or PDF, but as a .png. Yes...I know...total newb. I received some help from another forum and figured out that was my problem. Thank you though!
