I just moved to Windows 11 and am finding this same behavior.  Every app on the taskbar is unresponsive when I have InDesign open, so I have to minimize ID every time I want to move to another app.  This is a problem because I must move from one app to another on a regular basis.  Has any solution been discovered?  It is really unacceptable.

Thanks for any help,

GS

Have you updated Windows 11 to 22H2?

This is an elusive issue. I have recently installed InDesign 2023 on Win11 22H2 and so far there are no apparent issues with Windows Task View shortcuts (e.g. Ctrl-Win-arrows, Win-Tab, etc.). OTOH, I just upgraded to InDesign 2023 on Win10 21H2 and when InDesign 2023 was first launched in full-screen mode, Win-Tab didn't work. I have not made an exhaustive analysis of this problem, but there certainly is something going on.

It's not just InDesign or any other Adobe app, and not just normal pop-up behavior.

For all the improvements of Win11—and they are many—MS broke the taskbar in six stupid, unnecessary ways and shows no inclination to fix any of them. Sigh.

Only if you care about the Start Menu, which I have basically never used. I know it's a big deal to many users.

I want the task bar to stick to any monitor edge I choose, not almost immediately block clicks with a pop-up app name, and respond no matter what app I am using. There are some registry hacks for partial fixes, but nothing "clean" and MS maintains an air of complete ignorance about the matter(s).

ETA: And just to be sure, I grabbed Stardock on a trial. All it does is put a menu on the Win11 options and allow the one hack of positioning it top or bottom. I want to drag it to the left edge of my left-ist monitor, as I have for a decade or more. Nothing I know of will permit this, or suppress the almost-instant popup tips.

Thx, though.

I can confirm this behavior. I find there are times I have to minimize InDesign in order to open other windows.

It's an annoyance but nothing I've found the time to even bother reporting.
