My question is: how to open an old quark-xpress-document in indesign?

You can open only QX documents versions 3.1 up to 4.1. Just drag a QX file on to an empty InDesign window or go through  File > Open and select QuarkXpress from the 'All readable files' dropdown at the bottom right.
