Open documents tabs color

Hello all,

Wouldn't it be awesome to have the option to give a document tab a colour? Let's say you are working on a revision of a document but you want to keep the old document open to check it now and then. Now both document tabs are grey. How nice would it be to give them colours. So you can see quickly, the new document has a green tab and the old one has a orange tab. 

I have included a simple mockup.

I don't know a way to do this. It might be possible with custom OS skins or through some other means.
