opening issues

Hello everyone, I've been trying to open the indesign app on my Mac for about three days now.
Every time I click on the program, it seems to open and then it just stops suddenly.
I've tried uninstalling and re-installing and the problem persists--I'm writing my thesis and it's a big deal if it doesn't work! has anyone had similar experiences? what could be the problem? Thank you very much

What operating system (exact build number, please), what version of InDesign, how much RAM?

Do you have Magnet installed? If so, deactivate it.

ok so I have MacOs Ventura version 13.2.1, 2025 InDesign and 8gb RAM (hope I replied correctly)

Actually I don't know what's Manet but I don't have it

I think you should upgrade update your OS.

And 8GB of RAM might not be enough.

I think so... it has always worked until now, it's just for the last few days that it's been giving me this problem... I'll try to update the system

I meant UPDATE - to Ventura 13.7.x

NOT upgrade to Sequoia.

There's your problem. Ventura was buggy as hell until version 13.5 and as Robert points out, 8GB is barely enough to install it.

Instead / after reinstallation you need to reset preferences:
