Anyone else having the issue that option 8 to create a bullet is not working in the latest release?

I think I figured out the issues. I loaded a "Made to Tag" plugin recently and I guess it creates a different set of default keystrokes under the keyboard options. When I changed it back to "Default" it allowed me to use all the keystrokes, incl. making the lowly bullet 🙂 ••• Thanks everyone for your help!

Hi @janicevaneck:

It's working fine for me.

  • Mac OS 11.6
  • InDesign 2022 17.0.1

And @JonathanArias, I use bullets as separators, for example:

Fine here (Mac 17.0.1). If this is a mainstream professional font, it should have a glyph associated to option-8. Some "free" or custom-built fonts may not have it if they didn't design one in.

You might also want to try resetting your prefs if it happens in multiple fonts...

I never make bullets that way. so i say i have not noticed. why can't you make a bullet list using the bullet list option?

Not having that issue Janice. Perhaps the font you're using doesn't have a bullet? Odd, but not unknown.

Jonathan, there are other uses for bullets besides lists. 😄 I prefer a bullet to an em dash or / on certain layouts.
