OT: Packaging Photoshop Fonts

Okay, this is a little off-topic, but I'm updating a poster that someone created here in the past. They created it in Photoshop, and it has about 8 billion layers. I'll recreate it in InDesign when I have the time, but one thing I would like to do (for now) is to gather up all its fonts and keep them with the file (it took me a while to locate and install one of the fonts I needed to open this Photoshop file correctly). Is there anything similar to Package in Photoshop? I tried placing the Photoshop file in InDesign and then packaging it, but it ignores the Photoshop file's fonts. How do I find all the fonts? Is there a Photoshop option for that? I have the file working okay for now -- I just want to avoid problems in the future if I get a new computer or something.

I have no idea why this file was created in Photoshop as InDesign would have been a much better choice. But whatever. It's not the first messed up file I've had to work with.

Thanks, Phyllis

We have a plugin Photoshop Art Packer which can collect Photoshop fonts for you.  Photoshop Art Packer(http://www.layerhero.com/photoshop-art-packer/) is a native Photoshop plugin.

Yes, FlightCheck can collect or package Photoshop fonts. Just wanted to add this postscript, to make it clear. Thank you @macinbytes

Here is an admitted long-winded video quick-tip on how to automatically find and package all used fonts along with a copy of the .PSD file (disclousre: I work for Markzware, the makers of FlightCheck):

I hope this helps - How FlightCheck can collect Photoshop fonts, like Package within InDesign.

Yes, your software works great for packaging fonts, however, you'll have to go through the entire document and rasterize all the Smart Objects since it's been about 3 versions since Flightcheck Pro could run a .psd file without crashing if there are Smart Objects.

FontExplorer X by Linotype and probably the rest of the font management world have detect font in document capabilities.

Like Bob said, save as PDF, then from FontExplorer X (other font managers have collection utilities, I know Suitcase does it via a plugin) you can choose "Detect Fonts in Document" and then make a Set which makes collection easy.

I know that you cannot use ArtFiles to collect fonts in Photoshop PDFs (at least ones I've tried). FlightCheck Professional may be able to package from Photoshop PDF, but I can't personally testify to that. Collecting Photoshop PDF fonts in ArtFiles crashes the application 100% of the time for me, <1% of the time for me from Illustrator PDFs. Standard your milage may vary applies.

Save it as a PDF and check the font list in Acrobat.
