Hi All,
My boss and I both work in Adobe Creative cloud and are constantly sharing, opening and closing the same InDesign files back and forth. We both have the same font book, google fonts, and adobe fonts activated. With that said, we have the same Poppins font. For some reason, if I create an InDesign file with Poppins, whenever he opens it a dialogue box shows up for missing font. And the mission font says its Poppins OTF, and so he changes the font back to 'his' Poppins and saves and closes. And if I open it again I get the same dialogue box, with the missing Poppins OTF. Its really frustrating having to change the fonts back every time so there are no errors showing.
Does this happen to anyone else? Is there a fix?

Seems to me you don't both have the same version installed. Where did the font come from?

It looks that one have the Adobe font version activated and the other one the Google version.

Can you, each of you, open the same file using Poppins Font, go to the Text menu > Find font and select the Poppins font in the list. Then make a screenshot, like mine. Be sure that the information panel is visible.

That is exactly what we need to see, but on each computer, to be sure that you use the same version.

Do you see the difference? The missing font is the OTF (Type 1) version, 3.2 and on your former screenshot, you use the OTF (TT) 4.0 version.
Don't be confused by the “Type 1”. Both of you are using an OTF version, but one is a “Type 1 flavoured” and the other a “TT flavoured”

Hi there Ps_Alexandria,
I am having the same isse as you. Did you find a solution in the end?
My colleague has sent me his version of the fonts, which I have tried to update, but every time I go to add the next weight, it overwrites the one I have just updated – it's as if my computer is seeing all the new versions of the font as 1 weight.
As you can see in the 1st screenshot, I have managed to successfully update Poppins (TT) Light, but when I then add Poppins (TT) Regular – or Semibold, it says it is already installed and then when I either "Keep both" or "Replace" it just overwrites the one I just replaced.
Plus even though I have the full Poppins family enabled via Adobe fonts, I am only being presented with 3 options in Indesign. In illustrator I can see all of them.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give,
Emma

So, I've been chasing this Adobe Fonts bug, and while I've not been able to get anybody at Adobe interested in it, it sounds like you are encountering it. If I were in your shoes, here's what I'd do:
1) Uninstall all of the fonts you have installed yourself, by actually deleting them from your Fonts folder
2) Deactivate all of the Adobe fonts in question
3) Maybe clear font caches, I don't know if this actually helps or not (I'm not a Mac user right now, it might be very important for you)
4) Sign all the way out of Creative Cloud
5) Restart your computer
6) Sign back into CC
7) Add those fonts back in from Adobe Fonts only
It's a collision, I believe, between the way that the operating system stores font faces (like Bold or etc.) and the way that Adobe names fonts. So whether or not you're experiencing A Bug, you're going to have problems if you have multiple fonts with the same name but different faces installed from different sources in different locations.

Thank you so much for taking time to reply and help with this Joel – it worked for indesign, but I'm now getting the issue in Illustrator, so looks like I will need to do similar with that. But thank you again for your help! 🙂
