Hi, I use a template for writing an ebook ( Filenr.: 461596238). There was one lettertype and color in it which was connected to the pagenumber. However, I did not know this and I deleted the color and lettertype as a set. Now, the pagenumber is not visible anymore, even thought it is activated in the layout menu. How can I get back the pagenumber? What should I do? Where should I look? Can anyone help me to get it back?

Thank you in advance.

Best wishes, Anouk

Hi, thanks for the link. I tried to follow the steps, however, I get blocked at making or finding a parent page. I don't know where to find these. I don't see the option to make a 'new parent'. Is there maybe a video with this explanation?

Thanks in advance!

Sorry, I tried many things but it seems too complicated. Also because English is not my native language and my program works in Dutch, so the names are different. I hope there will be some video's to show it in InDesign.

Here is a beginner's video on creating master pages (which are now called parent pages in English):

Great! Thanks so much!

I managed to get the pagenumbers in again and used a parent page on all pages. However, my first five pages are called 1 or 2. From page 6 number 3 starts and from there it goes up in the right way until page 13. From page 14 it starts over with page 1 again. So somehow the numbers don't follow from the start (page 2), even though I used the same parent page on all the pages. Any idea what can cause this issue?

Thanks so much!

Hi @Anouq ,

you may have added page sections in your document.

Remove the section entries and numbering will continue throughout your document.

Read into:
