Page Numbering and Linking with Alternative Page Numbering

Hi,

My coworker set up an alternative page numbering section to start an appendix at A01,A02, etc. We are now trying to hyperlink the page numbers to the table of contents page, but we are running into a snag where it is getting confused which section to link to.

Is there another way to tell Indesign that we are trying to link to page 75 in the appendix (A75) rather than page 75 in the main document? Whenever we try to type (A75) it does not recognize that as the page number and just says we need to provide an integer that is present in the appendix page numbers (ie. pages 1-217), but then it is selecting 75 in the primary document to link back to.the page number in green is the last of the main section series and 01 is the first in the appendix. We have denoted the A prior to the page number (current page marker), but I suppose the page number isn't actually A01 in this caseexpand image

Hi @landscape_snarkitect,

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry for the delay in response. Would you mind checking this article: Add page numbering to your pages in Adobe InDesign to add alternate page numbers in InDesign?

I also found this post on page numbering, which might also help you; https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign-discussions/page-numbering/m-p/12431632#M447517.

I am also keeping the discussion open for our experts, who might have more suggestions for you.

Thanks,

Harshika
