If we create 1400 pages book, then what will be the page size 8.5 x 11 with 1 inch margin from spine and half inch margin from other 3 sides?
or
9 x 11 with 1 inch margin from spine and half inch margin from other 3 sides?
Also, bleed must be included to 8.5 x 11 dimensions?
Thanks

Page size is the final size of any publication.
The size of the margins you have to decide yourself.
Bleed is added to, never included in the page size.

ok. but if the 1 inch margin from spine is necessary then what should be the page size

Your page size is still 8.5 x 11 - that is the final trim size.
Margins are guides created inside the trim/page size.
Bleeds are added outside the trim/page size.

Here are the guides relative to the page trim:

Hi!
If you do not have any images bleeding off the edge, then your page size can be 8.5 x 11. But if you do have something bleeding off the edge, then you need to allow for 1/8 inch bleed (.125 in.) so your page size would be 10.75 x 8.25.
If you have no bleed, then your text area would be 7 x 10 (8.5-1.5=7 and 11-1=10). These numbers are not as important because as Kevin said above, you would set the text are using your margin settings.
Let us know if that helps,
Michelle

so your page size would be 10.75 x 8.25.
You would normally not add the Bleed to the page trim, which is defined as Page Size Width and Height in the Document Setup or New Document dialog. The Document Setup has separate Bleed and Slug fields, which setup the Bleed guides on the page. On an Export to PDF you have the option to include bleeds.

That is wrong. Bleed does never increase the page size. Bleed is added as additional area around the page.

@mglush That is wrong. Your page size remains constant at 8.5 x 11. You do not increase to add bleed or decrease if you do not have bleed. Refer to @rob day 's diagram. Guides for bleed or margins do not change page size.
@Asadali92 Set your page size to 8.5 x 11. Add your 1" margins in the dialog box and bleed if needed.

Y'all may be misinterpreting the response from mglush. The way I read it, they are saying if you want to output with bleed of .125 onto paper stock that is 8.5 x 11 you would need to reduce the page size to 8.25 x 10.75. That seems to be valid, as far as it goes, since it seems to imply some sort of digital output to a printer rather than press sheets, but it fails to account for any potential non-printing border area on the device. If you are trying to print full bleed on 8.5 x 11 paper on a typical laser printer, for example, the maximum print area would be 8 x 10.5, and you'd want to keep your page size at least that small (and your bleed areas would be cut off in the printer before trimming, so you would need to cut very carefully).

@Peter Spier We're getting way off track from the OP question...

But when you Export or Print you can choose whether to include the document defined bleeds or not—you don’t have that choice if bleeds are manually built into the page. It would be particularly dangerous for a commercial printer—I can‘t setup a page as 8.25" x 10.75" and expect the printer to trim it to 8" x 10", because Acrobat is going to list the trim as 8.25" x 10.75" not 8" x 10":

Thank you Peter, that is exactly what I was trying to say.

Good morning, @Kevin Stohlmeyer, I was calculating it on what @Asadali92 about using an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper to print on. If there is nothing that needs bleed then yes, the page size would be 8.5 x 11. But, if they wanted to print on 8.5 xc 11 and had something on the page that needed to bleed, I moved the Trim size in by the standard .125 in. to come up with what I wrote.

This would output the 8"x10" page including its Bleeds—the printed area would be 8.25" x 10.25":

I would agree that setting the page size to the trim size and adding the bleed outside, no matter the paper size being used to print, is the correct method. I just was pointing out that you folks were misinterpreting a post.
As far as the OP's question, I can't say I really understand what they are asking. I presume this must be in relation to some print-on-demand service or similar where the book size is dictated and they want to know how to do the document setup in which case the page size should match the trimmed book size, but it isn't really clear to me.It's also not clear that such a service can even accomdate bleeds. If that is not the case, page size is entirely up to the designer.

Also, if you manually add bleeds to the page the Crop and Bleed Marks would Output and Export in the wrong positions.
