I just downloaded Adobe Indesign 2017 20 minuets ago. I need to change the background color of a placed image, but there is no paint bucket feature in the program. I was at my uni's library last night trying to find the paint bucket for over 2hrs. Please help

Okay, I had the same problem, but there is a solution

Use the Rectangular Frame Tool and select the entire background

Under Properties, it will have a tab named Appearances. There is a Fill section in it.

Adjust to the color of your preference

    And you're done!

Unless, of course, it's a placed image...

So I edited the photo in Photoshop, and set the background of the image to the same RGB code as the background color code of my Indesign document. But the colors dont look the same. What can I do?

Make sure the RGB profiles in both documents match. Go o Edit>Assign Profile (not Color Settings) and assign the same RGB profiles

Edit the image in Photoshop. There is no real image editing in ID.

Have you attempted to learn how these applications work? They have a steep learning curve.
