Hello everyone, I have this problem: when I apply the paragraph style with the regular font, inexplicably the text turns into italic. Does anyone have a solution? Thanks
It looks that you also have applied a character style on your text. It is possible that this italic character style is applied by default.
thank you jmlevy. I applied the regular font style to the paragraph style. Also in the text table/ font window is Adobe Garamon Pro regular. I also did not do any italic font style
Can you show screenshots? Paragraph style panel, character style panel.
Thank you jmlevy,
Adobe Support advised me to transfer each page to a new document. I tried, with a 15-page file. I must say that the problem disappeared. But I am working on a book of about 650 pages (obviously divided into separate files). It is unthinkable that if the problem recurs I should have to transfer hundreds of pages to a new document.
Unfortunately, your screenshot is not sufficient to understand what happens. But, in the table under the score, I see that italic is applied to the text between parenthesis. Would it be possible that there is a GREP style? Could you share the file (or a part of it)? It would be helpful to understand.
I have downloaded your file: the only places where you have italics on the text is because the paragraph style has been overriden. It can be easily seen becuase there is a litle plus sign beside the paragraph name in the paragraph style panel.
But I also see that you have set up your paragraph style with Garamond Pro, 12 pts but you also have (in numerous places), a character style in Garamond Pro 11 pts…
You should clean up your file, by:
Yes, I have certainly overwritten the italics to the regular (in the case of titles of musical works). There is a style in body 11, a bit smaller for tables and in body 10 for endnotes
