Parent page items not showing up on other parents based on them

Advocate ,

Hi all,

I'm having an issue I don't recall seeing before:

1) Put a few objects on a parent page (A)

2) Create a new parent page (B) based on (A) - everything shows up

3) Add a new item on parent page (A) - it doesn't appear on (B)

Am I forgetting something?

thanks!

[edit] Got it! Looks like the first set of new Parent pages were copies of the original Parent, rather than a new set based on the orginal Parent. A little forensics goes a long way... 🙂

Thanks all!

One thing that frustrates me is that it's not automatic - you have to select the Based on and pick the Parent Page

With both pages selected in the Parent Pages go to the Parent Pages Options and ensure it's enabled for Based on Parent.

Turner,

That should have worked. Did you perform any over-rides to any objects along the way?

Are you absolutely sure you based B on A and that there are no overrides involved?

I just tested it here to ensure there wasn't a bug introduced anywhere along the way, and it worked fine.

Thanks Bob - there's hardly anything on the first Parent - just started the design. I'll check again just in case, though.

Hi @turner111 ,  Can you share a sample doc?
