Paste in place not working

I usually use Control-Alt-Shift-V to paste a frame in the same place I cut it from. But lately it is not workigin one scenario in InDesign.

The scenario is when I have an extra empty frame behind the frame that has my image (left there by a previous incompetent typsetter)

  1. I hit control-X to remove the frame with image.
  2. Then I hit delete to discard the empty frame
  3. Then I hit control-alt-shift-v to paste the frame in place.
  4. And then it doesn't work. It still sends the frame (with its image) to another part of the document, so I have to reposition it back to its original X and Y positions.

Does anyone know why this shortcut to paste-in-place is not working consistently?

Hi @LettersfromCornwall,

Thank you for reaching out. I am unable to reproduce the issue on a windows machine on the latest version of InDesign. Could you please share a screen recording showing the behavior, which will help us investigate faster? Please share the version of InDesign and the details of your operating system.

We will try our best to help.

Thanks,

Harshika

Thank you so much.  Here is the recording:

I used the menu as much as I could so you could see what I was doing.  The last thing I did was Control-Alt-Shift-V.

Oh, I just saw the recording doesn't show what I did in the edit menu. Strange. Anyway what I did was:

1. Select the frame with the image.

2. Cut

3. Select the extra frame underneath

4. Delete

5. Control-Shift-Alt-V to try to put the frame-with-image back where it was.
