Paste Without Formatting Not Working - Mac

I am using InDesign CC2020 v15

When I try to paste into a text box (from a Word doc) it is greyed. If I copy/paste within a text box, one part to another, it works fine. I have rebooted. I use this type of pasting all the time because much of the text I am pasting has italicized text. By using Find Font I can easily find and italic the text after the paste.

Any thoughts? Is there another way of doing this?

1. Version of OS.

2. Is it happening with 1 specific document or with multiple?
3. Have you saved file locally or on a network?

Mojave 10.14.6

All cut/paste into InDesign text from external docs. I have CC2019 still installed so I did two short videos. With 2019, when I cmd-V from Word into a text field the italic area is pink, meaning the font cannot be found. This is good because I can use Find Font to automatically add the italic. in CC2020 when I paste or paste in place I do not get that option. Maybe Thanks for your help! I am not an Indesign expert as i am sure you can tell!
