Patch installer for CS5.5 patch 7.5.3 AAM won't install upgrade.

I have been using CS5.5 version 7.5 but I have run into a bug that is corrected in update 7.5.3. The Adobe application Manager won't function to install this upgrade.  I searched through the CS5.5 program for upgrades and it upgraded the AAM to a creative cloud AAM. This is not working for me. Please help

At some point in the past (I don't know the exact date) Adobe "merged" the original update manager into the Cloud update manager, which means you are no longer using your original update manager

I have read some messages that the latest (Cloud) updater sometimes doesn't work with old programs... Try installing your updates manually

Updates start here and select product, read to see if you need to install updates in number order, or if the updates are cumulative for the individual product http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/

Hi John, thanks for your prompt reply. I don't understand what you mean. Do you mean i have to first install 7.5.1 then 7.5.2 then 7.5.3? I can't find any information on this issue on the page you point me to.

Yes, that’s what it means but I’m pretty sure it’s cumulative.

Note: CS5.5 is not supported under any current Mac or Windows operating system.

I tried to install CS5.5 7.5.1 but each time I am stymied by the Adobe application manager which won't allow me to do anything. How can i bypass this AAM?

With Windows 10, I’m afraid you’re on your own.

I tried to get the patch installer to work on my old laptop which is windows 8.1. It did nto have the AAM updated to creative commons. But it would not allow the update either, it said they were incompatible.

This is so odd. Still, I have thought of a workaround. it is a nuisance but doable I think That is to export the book pdf and to replace the corrupted file as a single file ,in a pdf management program  rather than working through indesign.   Oh well..... Thanks so much for your help.

Not supported under Win 8, either.

If this application is mission critical for you, find a Windows 7 machine or upgrade to Creative Cloud.

I guess that is the only answer. Just i can't afford creative cloud price. It means a monthly payment which is quite large for me. Windows 7 machine or find a workaround....OK

Thanks for your interest and help anyhow
