Pathfinder options deactivated

I'm trying to use the Pathfinder option in inDesign but all the options are deactivated.

I tried on Object > Pathfinder or Window > Object and layout but the options are always greyed out.

from your Layers panel I see that nothing is selected.

To get the Pathfinder options you nee two objects selected.

FWIW: There is only one circle on the spread.
