PDF form doesn't print checkboxes

I created an interactive pdf form in InDesign. This document is available on the site of the company I work for. Clients can click on the link to open the pdf file. The file now opens in the browser.

When the client fills in the form and clicks on 'print', the filled in radio buttons and checkboxes aren't printed. How can this be resolved?

(If the file is saved on the computer, opened in a pdf-reader, filled in and printed, then this problem doesn't occur.)

You answered your own question.

One of the greatest weaknesses of broadcast interactive PDF is that you can't control the viewing platform, and browser plugins have always been problematic in one way or 12 others. The same is true of the many mobile-platform PDF readers. The only 100% predictable viewer is the stand-alone Adobe Reader.

How can this be resolved?

Unfortunately, unless you can somehow dictate or gain control of your users' PDF app choice, it might be best if you find a different approach to gathering your data. Even if you find a way to fix it in one viewer, you'll still have trouble with another.

As expected. Beyond Acrobat and Reader, interactive PDFs are a crapshoot. This is especially true on mobile devices and in browsers.
