pdf is combining single pages together

Community Beginner ,

Hello,

I am fairly new to InDesign. I have managed to navigate around okay, apart from when creating multiply paged pdf’s.  I want to send the pdf to others digitally, but it seems to be combining two pages. (I have attached a photo). Do you know how I can stop this and create a multiple pdf that shows one page at a time?

So far, I have created a document and have unticked facing pages.

I have created the document on single pages.

When creating a pdf I go to file-> export –> adobe pdf print - > I’ve clicked on single page continuous.

I have tried to create single pdf files for each one and combine in in acrobat, but then I can’t save it.  Or if I open a combined pdf in acrobat from InDesign and resaved it and have had the same problem

Hi Grace:

This looks to me like the issue is the view settings in Acrobat/Reader. Try View > Page Display > Single Page View.

If that takes care of it, you can change the Initial View settings with File > Properties > Initial View > Page Layout > Single Page. This ensures that each time the file is opened, it opens in Single Page view.

Did you select Pages (not spreads)?

If you've selected single pages in the PDF dialogue box and the PDFs are coming out as facing pages I think you must have set up your InDesign document incorrectly. It's difficult to judge from the screen shot you posted.

Hey Derek,

I have found the issue was with the setting of how I viewed it.

Thank you for your help!
