pegar en el mismo lugar

Hola

Cuando quiero pegar un texto en el mismo lugar utilizando el comando "Pegar en el mismo lugar" dentro de una página nueva o duplicada (da igual) ese texto lo pega unos milímetros por debajo de dónde debe ir.

¿Alguien podría indicarme como corregir esto? No sucedía en otras versiones anteriores de InDesign.

Maybe the translation software does not get this right? According to it you said: "that text pastes it a few millimeters below". You perhaps mean that the "text frame" pastes a few millimeters below?!

could be that spread or the page is somehow transformed.

Especially if you see this in alternate layout situation.

Either the source page or the target page could be transformed, that the page's size was changed with the Page tool before. Well, that's just an idea… To have that effect on a duplicated page would speak against it.

To get to the core of the issue, I have to look into that specific document. Could you provide a sample document where you see this issue? Just one page and one text frame would be sufficient…

And I do not think, that this will happen with all of your documents.

Ok. Thank you for the sample document, @Jorgelina5DF4 !

Now that I see that you are using the Roboto font family, my thoughts what's going wrong here move into a totally different direction. Paste In Place will function as expected, just tested this with your document, the text frame will not be moved, it will be pasted at exactly the same position as before.

So this is not an issue with a transformed page or transformed parent page.

However, what can happen is the following:

The text's baseline position in the pasted text frame could move a bit down.

We already discussed this in several threads here in the forum.

I regard this behavior an InDesign bug with the feature First Baseline in the text frame options.

This usually happens when you substitute the OTF version of a font, in your case from the Roboto family, with its TrueType counter part. Or the other way around.

Basically it could be this: Activated font style from Adobe Fonts vs. installed font file from Google Fonts.

The rendering of the text on e.g. page 1 has not changed, even if the font was substituted. It will change if you edit the text. But the rendering ( and baseline position ) will definitely change when you paste or paste-in-place a copied text frame from the clipboard.

There are already different versions of Roboto used in your document, I think.

The Bold style is from 2014, the Regular style is from 2017. I can see this in the Find fonts… panel when I do "More Info" and if I do not install Roboto and do not activate Roboto from Adobe Fonts. Yes, one style seems to be from 2014, the other one from 2017, that's very odd. So perhaps, at one point in your workflow you had the Bold or the Regular font style missing and substituted it with the wrong version.

Adobe Fonts with Google Fonts perhaps. or Google Fonts with Adobe Fonts.

Don't know…

To get this right I would recommend the following:

[1] Change the text frame's options for all of your text frames.

Instead of First Baseline: Ascend do First Baseline: Cap Height

With that change the bug will not bite you again.

[2] Either use the Google Fonts version of the Roboto family or use the Adobe Fonts version.

Never mix both families in one document!

Ah. Select all text frames. Then either go to menu Object > Text Frame Options or use the keyboard shortcut that should be Cmd + B (Mac) or Ctrl + B (Windows). There is a Baseline Options tab.

Also possible, define a new custom object style with the changed baseline options and make it the default text frame style in the Object Styles panel. So that if you draw out a new text frame the First Baseline definition will be already Cap Height.

FWIW: It could also be something else for First Baseline.

The important thing here is, that it is not Ascend.

Note, that this problem is not alone with the Roboto font family.

It could be any font that you can activate with Adobe Fonts and that is also available with e.g. Google Fonts.
