Perfect Bound Book "guts" bleed question

Hello!

I'm attempting to create a perfect bound book, and I've alreayd gotten the front and back cover page created with the spine - that part was pretty easy. What i can't figure out is the bleed on the "guts" of the book itself. My dimensions are 9.792" x 8.208" for the book itself, with an 1/8" bleed. When i do the 1/8" bleed all the way around it's perfect for the first page, but on the facing pages i get an overhang. When i do the 1/8" bleed on all sides but the middile on the facing pages, it's perfect.

So my question is, what's the right way to do it? 1/8" bleed all the way around or 3/4 ways around or something else? Any help is appreciated!

w/ bleed on 3/4 sides

w/ bleed on 4/4 sides (overhang)

Hi @JonRed1 , the inside edge of the perfect bound signatures are folded not trimmed, so it’s likely that the bleed content on the inside fold will be removed when the signature pages are imposed. Ask your printer if they want you to include an inside bleed. If they want one it’s ok to let it come from the facing page
