Explorer ,
Jan 23, 2024 Jan 23, 2024

When I go to update a review link in InDesign, I keep getting this error message "there was an error updating the artifact". After that, the link does not work for most people. I am signed in to Adobe. Everything is up-to-date.... But this issue still persists. Can Adobe please fix this issue? It's emarassing when I go to send the review link to my leaders and they just get an error message when they try opening it.

It seems that updates often do not come through when you are working on a Mac, but they usually (but not always) do when you are working on a PC. It is a good idea to mention what you are working with when posting messages (I know a lot of you are doing that already, so thank you for that). Adobe needs to know...

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your continued patience while we looked into this. I checked with the product team, and they've tested multiple files (including those shared by some of you) but weren’t able to reproduce the issue on their end, even after several tries. It seems to be intermittent, and in many cases, retrying the Update Content option works successfully on subsequent attempts.

The team also noticed in one of the shared recordings that unmapped comments were present, which might be cont

Hello everyone,

Thank you so much for continuing to report your experiences regarding the error message.

A bug has been logged for this issue, where the Update Content action in the Sharesheet may show the error even though the content is actually updated successfully and reflects correctly on Assets Web. Our product team is actively working on a fix.

Really appreciate your patience and collaboration. I will keep you all posted as soon as we have an update.

Thanks again
Abhishek

December 2025 and this is still giving me ongoing issues. It has not been fixed even though the Adobe Team are continually giving false confirmations that all is well. It is beyond frustrating as this isn't a new issue and has been going on for me since the share to review option was released. Its not like Adobe aren't aware of it. Adobe please please please come back to your core customers and fix the more practical issues with your software rather than running down the AI pathway and focussing all your resources on tools that we dont really want or need.

We should really start coming together as consumers and think what de want from Adobe, instead of passively accepting their will. In this case for example, they are just blatantly ignoring us and waisting our time, full stop.

I get this error all the freaking time. It's not just annoying; it makes us look bad to clients when you sell the process of updates and then can't update in the middle of them. I've experienced this for years with Adobe.

It's time to please fix this, or we have to go back to printing out a pdf and making the client hand-draw the changes.
