Photoshop and .tiff files lose transparency

Community Beginner ,

This seems to be a continuing issue; I created an InDesign layout with transparent .tiff files, which printed with black backgrounds.  I changed the image files to photoshop .psd files and they continue to print with black backgrounds.  Is there a setting for .tiff or .psd files that I need to set to have transparent files?

This was from exported PDF; seems the .png  has fixed it for printing for now.

With TIFF files you have to check Save Transparency in the Save As TIFF Options dialog. Photoshop Format automatically saves with transparency, so you should be getting transparency with .PSDs. Are you getting the black background in the lnDesign preview or just in print? Is the PSD’s container frame filled with [None]?

I'm only getting the black background when I print; the PDF and preview looks correct. The .tiff files are saved with transparency, and I had read elsewhere that using .psd files should be the fix but they print in the same way.  The container frames have no fill.

Weirdly, I just made a version using .png and that one prints correctly.

What if you export a PDF and print that from Acrobat?

What preset are you using to export the PDF? Are you printing the PDF from Acrobat?
