Place 2 x 256pp PDF's on Layers

Hello )

We have 2 x 256pp PDF's, one containing Text the other CMYK Images, I need to place these files on top of each other on separate layers.

I have utilised the script 'placemultipadepdf' but it will only allow one PDF to be placed, per file.

I have made a new layer and tried placing the 2nd file on top, but it overwrites the first PDF placement.

Im pretty sure there is a way to do this, or maybe edit the script ?

Im not sure of a correct way to achieve this but if your question still has not been answered by now, then you could have easily placed the files in manually by now.

InDesign's place tool makes this really quite simple and not to time consuming either.

If it was me that had to do this, i would do it in via this method:

1.) Use placemultipagepdf script for the first layer, then turn that layer off. (making sure the document is the same size as the PDF media size.

2.) Create second layer and use import options of place ALL at media size.

3.) Place each page individually into each page (on to the second layer). Having the document the same size as the pdf makes this easy to get correct position by clicking each page in the top left corner.

4.) Turn on layer 1 and two together and voila.

To then get the document to be correct page size, and not just the PDF media size, adjust via the document setup.

Thats what I thought would work and it does. was trying to avoid having to place 256pp of the 2nd PDF manually.
