Hey,
I want to place external Richtext files into my inDesign Document.
In the document there is already a text frame in which the text (singel phrases) should be placed. In case I drag and drop the text from the finder a new text frame will be created instead of placing the text into the existing one. Opening the Richtext files - copy the content - and insert it into the existing texframe via ctr+V is no option cause we are talking about 2.000 items.
I use RTF Documents cause phrase and text formats are defined in them and importing different languages will be very easy.
Would be happy about any solution to solve my problem or another workaround.
Thank you very much!

Thanks for your feedback! Do you use the actual inDesign CC 2020 Version?
I am using the software on Windows.

I use CS6 to CC2019 on macOS.
It may not be helpful..

Oh sorry i forgot something. The text will be placed in the text frame but in case I want to add another RTX file into the same text frame it will create a new one. I wan to place this text in the same frame.
Is there any possibilty for this?

If there is already text in the text frame,
Place the text cursor inside the frame where you want to insert/add the text.
Use the command File>Place and select the *.rtf file.
That should work and insert the text in rich format at the cursor position.
I have just tried it out on ID 2020 in Windows 10.
Dragging a file from a system folder requires the frame is empty as the cursor points just to the frame, not to a place or position inside it.

The text frame where you can drag the text saved as a RTF file must be empty. As shown by the animation from Ajabon.
Tested on Win 10 and ID 2020
