Still newby here....

I want to important images to my ID document but they are always in a container which drives me crazy when i want to move them or resize them. Can I import or place them without the whole container thing....

@SuzzyFlamingo

Images can't exist on their own - they need a container.

By default, if you place or drag&drop image without anything selected - InDesign imports image into a Rectangle.

But you can create an oval - and when it's selected - you can place image into it.

No.

What sort of problems are you having? Most likely you simply need a bit more explanation on how to use the two types of selection tool, their behaviors and how to use the modiifier keys with them.

And please tell us your version of InDesign and OS -- there are som OS related issuesthat cropped up recently, particularly with a Windows 11 update.
