I have activated the Playfair display font in InDesign and in Typekit, but when I want to export the file into pdf it gets stuck every time.

The other thing is that there is no help available with chat or telefphone.

Can anybody help me please?

Hi Jennie,

so you are not able to activate the Playfair Display font with the Adobe Fonts Service.

What's your version of InDesign and operating system?

Are you on a Mac with the new M1 chip?

The first thing what I would try:

[1] Log out of the Creative Cloud Desktop App.

[2] Restart your machine.

[3] Log in with the Creative Cloud Desktop App.

[4] Go to the Adobe Fonts website and activate the Playfair Display font there:

https://fonts.adobe.com/fonts/playfair

[5] Startup InDesign to see if

Maybe you can also find an answer at the Adobe Fonts User Forum:

Your screenshot is showing a background task.

As far as I can see the background task wants to activate the font. Is that right?

It seems to me that InDesign is not able to see the font as an activated one.

Can you show a screenshot of your document where you use the font?

Together with the following panel:

Type > Find/Change Fonts…

Where Playfair Display is selected and the More Info button is pressed to see more details about the used font style.

Thanks,
Uwe Laubender

Hi Rikke,

we need more information to help you.

What's your version of InDesign and operating system?

Please show the font details under "More Info…" of the problem font when you open:

Type > Find Fonts panel.

My suggestion:

Deactivate the font from Adobe Fonts.

Restart your machine.

Activate the font from Adobe Fonts.

Also: Attach a sample InDesign document where you see the issue.

Also the exported PDF.

Thanks,
Uwe Laubender
