Thank you, but I know the Acrobat Pro Preflight function (and us it).

I think it better and simplier in workflow in the InDesign as function.

Note: you must make a firm case for why this feature is needed. AFAIC, it's not, so don't expect a lot of support for it.

Text outlining is only required for cutting or very old RIPs - not in a normal circumstances.

Working in remote and rural areas where printers are not well-resourced makes flattening files and outlining fonts absolutely essential when sending files to print. I could tell you stories that will make you laugh/cry. 🙂

You can do it, use Acrobat Pro. When you can use InDesign, you can use Acrobat Pro.

ID would require a desk reference to the menus if every feature one or two users might "find useful" for their workflow were included.

Adobe presents us with a truly comprehensive but differentiated tool set for good reasons. Even if a user wants to do something as outdated and counterproductive as outline fonts.

If you mean printing services - then you should rather use a different service?

What you think, is to be perfectly frank, irrelevant. Make a case for a majority of users needing it. Again, I don't think you can even come close to being able to.

You would never, never need it. And in that very, very rare case you would, you can do so in Acrobat already or (but again: very, very bad!) do it in InDesign with  a flattener pre-set in InDesign at Export to PDF.

If you have a printer asking for fonts to be outlined, they probably can't handle an unflattened PDF either.

some very old RIPs cannot handle truetype fonts and as I know we can save pdf in acrobat pro to .ps (postscript version 2) and then convert it to pdf by distiller and everything will be fine.

That's a problem from decades ago with PostScript 1 RIPs and clone PS 2 RIPs. PostScript 3 came out in 1997. While I'm not one to automatically say "find another printer", I would have my doubts on the capabilities of a printing company that hasn't invested in more modern hardware/software.
