Adobe is no longer selling the old Creative Suite software. Generally, it won't work on any new operating system from either Windows or Macintosh.

You would need to buy a Creative Cloud subscription to get the latest version.

Also, beware of trying to buy CS5 or CS6 (or earlier versions) from third parties. They are usually not legal copies. Adobe is currently detecting non-authentic versions of the software and flagging a warning every 15 minutes.

I don't understand how to do this. After my computer crashed and I got a new one and I reloaded CS5, I can't open a file that I originally did in InDesign. Says I am missing pluggins. ??? Help??

Add screen shots by using the camera icon on the web page:

Which plugins are you being told to upgrade? And which version of ID are you using to try to open these particular files? Are they files you created, or did they come from someone else?

It is saying that the SharedContent.InDesignPlugin is missing

    and then

The file has been supplied by someone else.  I have CS5 7.0.4

That just means you are trying to open a version of InDesign you do NOT have.

that is you are trying to open version CS5.5, but you only have CS5, they are completly different versions which you cannot simply software upgrade without paying for it it

ok so the screen shots clearly didn't work.

it tells me that I need to upgrade the plug ins or upgrade InDesign, which is waht I have just done but the pop up is still there.

Try uploading your images in PNG format.

When do you get this error -- when opening a document?

If so, it generally means you are trying to open a CS5.5 document, and that is just not possible in CS5. It must be Exported to IDML in CS6.

Also, you say you have updated ,but you are not specific about what you have updated to. What version are you running -- 7.0.3?

I am trying to open a .indd file

I had InDesign CS4 and have just upgraded to CS5
