PNG/JPEG/GIF/Video greater than 10 MB not visible/working in published InDesign document

Has anyone else been dealing with this issue since the update? I used to have no problem publishing an indesign document containing GIFS over any size. Now it appears any GIF over 10MB will not even appear in the document. How can I remedy this?  Image attached below for reference- the top gif does not appear as it is 11mb.

Hi @samuelh996,

Thank you for your patience. I've heard back from the product team, and they've confirmed that the issue has been fixed in the next upcoming release. The fix is also available in the latest pre-release build (20.4.1.04 Pre-release build.), which you can access through the Creative Cloud Desktop app if you're part of the pre-release program.

If you're not already enrolled, you can follow the steps in the links below to join:

Give it a try and let me know how it goes. Looking forward to your update.

I have been trying to publish an online link but certain gifs keep coming up blank whilst others are fine.

Everything is linked, none of them are missing I'm not sure what to do. I've updated, come back to the old version, restarted etc etc. pls help!

attached are both gifs for you to see the difference

Hi @zoe_6995,

Thanks for sharing the details and screenshots. A bug has already been logged for this issue where certain GIFs appear blank when using Publish Online, and the product team is actively working on a fix.

I'll make sure to keep you posted with any updates as soon as we hear more.

Appreciate your patience in the meantime.

Hi All,

I make visual presentations for brands, and agencies.

The problem I am having is that my GIFs nor embeded Videos (mp4s) work properly when I make my design/presentation.

My workflow is as such "I take a 4-15 seconds Video (mp4, .mov, etc) and I turn these into "GIFs". Then I insert those gifs into Indesign so that I can have looping visuals to accommodate the text.

I have my workspace as "interactive for PDF" and I have the Document Set up for "web". Once, I've got the presentation to a place I like, I “Publish Online” to view the document. This is also the link I send to my clients.

For the last two days, I have been working on a deck and upon publishing it, NONE of the Gifs work.

I tried a work around by making them actual MP4's and inserting these in the presentation. This was working except that they play one at a time and upon loading a page with 3 moving visuals, the first loaded video will play but as soon as the other one loads, the first one stops, and that one plays until the third loads.

I need these visuals to all start at the same time and loop. I do not need audio.

I've done tests where I publish and open the links in a Private browser in both Safari and Chrome. The inforation is not sensitive so I don't "password protect" them.

Why dont these GIFs work anymore? This is driving me WILD!

I've attached some screen shots. One is my Document set up, and one is just my workspace. In "Static Gifs" you can see what this presentation would look like if it were a static "PDF". In "Moving Gifs" screen shot, that is how they would "play" if the software were working normally.

I don't know how to edit the post but I wanted to add that I am working in Adobe Indesign 2025.

Hello @samuelh996,

I was able to replicate this behavior on my end. Kindly allow me some time to check this with the team.

Feel free to reach out if you have more questions or need assistance. We'd be happy to help.
