Question

Powerpoint "Connector" function - anything similar?

Hi there.

I would like to attach a line between given points on two shapes, and then be able to drag the shapes around with the line stretching and moving in accordance with the relative positions of the shapes. Powerpoint has a function for this which I believe is called "connectors". Please see the attached video for a demonstration for what I would like to do.

Does this exist in any way in InDesign?

Thank you

I can't remember, but someone a couple years ago demonstrated an elaborate anchored object combined with an object style that made a *sorta* connector line. I was googling it, but I can't find it. James comments correctly that there isnt really such a feature in InDesign, but it is a great idea for a feature.

No. ID doesn't have a charting feature with functions like this. There may be a plug- in, though.
