Hi, i'm importing a series of numbers (for a calender) into a Indesign table with 7 columns (days of the week) and 5 rows (weeks of the month). I want the numbers to flow to the next row automatically, without creating new columns after the 7th existing column.
I know i could add a paragraph break in the list of numbers but that's quite a hassle to do for every week of every month (since for every month this is different).
Is there a way to prevent Indesign to create new columns and automatically flow the numbers to the next row?
Thanks!
Start with a 7 volumn table.

Use automatic numbering
Insert a paragraph return into one cell
Copy the cell
Select all the cells
and paste
Then with all the cells selected turn on automatic numbering
Style the numbering the way you want
You can set the leading to 1pt to get it back to the top
And depending on what day of the week starts the month - you can delete the preceding text from the cells and any extraneous cells at the end of the month.
This gives you full control on the numbering.
Automatically.

Thanks! Which 'automatic numbering' do you mean? Not Page/Chapter numbering i guess?
I think i found a way to do it with making the cells a 'Numbered list' and then style the numbering.

Hi Mark,
exactly. You need a numbered list.
And one character that kicks in the numbers.
Could also be a thin white space that you scaled to 1% horizontally.
