I export the INDD to PDF and print from Acrobat as InDesign has poor pint output.

I do print to PDF, using Bluebeam.

I just had to restart my computer and it worked fine again.

Printing to PDF is always wrong with InDesign workflows as PostScript or even worse technologies are involved. PDFs should onley be created via export.
