Hello Support Team/Development Team,
I trust this message reaches you in good health. I am contacting you to address an issue I have come across regarding the integration of the Table of Contents (TOC) and master page in my project. The main problem arises when I try to include the TOC in a document that utilizes a master page layout.
The main issue is that the Table of Contents does not align properly or adopt the formatting and styles specified in the master page.
Specifically: - The TOC appears misaligned and does not follow the margins and layout outlined in the master page.
Styles like fonts, headings, and line spacing from the master page are not reflected in the TOC, resulting in an inconsistent look.
At times, the TOC overlaps with other elements on the master page, giving the document a cluttered and unprofessional appearance.
The impact of this problem on the overall appearance of my documents is substantial. The consistency and professionalism of the formatting are of utmost importance for the type of work I do, which involves creating educational content and documentation for my website, https://pythononlinecompiler.com/.
I kindly request your help in resolving this matter. Specifically, I would like to inquire about the following:
1. Are there any known issues or limitations related to integrating TOC with master pages?
2. What are the recommended best practices for ensuring that the TOC inherits the styles and formatting from the master page?
3. Could you please provide any workarounds or solutions that could help mitigate this issue?
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I anticipate your timely response and assistance in resolving this matter.
Sincerely,
Daniel

Master / Parent pages do not have styles - styles are global per document.
TOC should be placed on a regular page - not a Master / Parent.

@Robert at ID-Tasker is correct.
Placing a Table of Contents on a parent/master page would repeat the TOC on every page based on that parent/master

Master Pages and Paragraph styles don't have any relation
Hello Support Team/Development Team,

TOCs do not use any master/parent layout. You use a page based on a master/parent.
The main issue is that the Table of Contents does not align properly or adopt the formatting and styles specified in the master page.
Specifically: - The TOC appears misaligned and does not follow the margins and layout outlined in the master page.
Alignment is specified by paragraph and objectstyles and where the frames align to the margins.
Styles like fonts, headings, and line spacing from the master page are not reflected in the TOC, resulting in an inconsistent look.
At times, the TOC overlaps with other elements on the master page, giving the document a cluttered and unprofessional appearance.
Don't put a. toc on the master, put it on a page based on a master. On the master define the margins so, that all elemts are outside the margins.

2. What are the recommended best practices for ensuring that the TOC inherits the styles and formatting from the master page?
3. Could you please provide any workarounds or solutions that could help mitigate this issue?
1. What are you trying?
2. There are no styles on the master.
3. Book a basic class for InDesign.
