Problems with scaling in indesign

I'm trying to scale text in indesign using cmd+shift, and it's not working.

And it won't let me proportionately scale anything in indesign holding shift etc- it just gets distorted.

When I try to duplicate using option+cmd+shift, that doesn't work either.

I've tried EVERYTHING- checked my preferences, reset preferences, uninstalled, reinstalled, please help.

What OS and InDesign versions? 

Have you (auto-)updated to 20.3.1 recently?

Do you use Magnet app - or something similar?

I know 😉 from the "cmd" 😉 but I was asking about the version - not "platform, OS and InDesign versions" 😉

Any chance you are running Webroot? This is such a common issue that they actually post the fix on their website.
