Publish online issue: background color inconsistently showing up behind image box bevel corner

When I Publish Online (link), some image boxes are appearing different (and not as intended) as others even though they have same treatment. The problematic boxes are on page 15 - where there is a white background showing where I've used the bevel corner option. In another instance, page 13, the white background doesn't appear.  (screenshots attached)

On both pages, the image box and background boxes are set up the same way. The image boxes do not have a fill (they do have a stroke). In both cases, the background is a tint. Here's a link to the ID file in case that's helpful.

I can't figure out why this is happening. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @Indy-go girl,

Thanks for reaching out! To help troubleshoot, could you share the version of InDesign you're using and details about your operating system?

For a solution, please try the following:

  1. Ensure that both image boxes have identical stroke, fill, and bevel corner settings.
  2. Remove and reapply the bevel corner option to the problematic image box.
  3. If the issue persists, try recreating the image box from scratch.

Additionally, if possible, try exporting as a PDF to check if the issue is specific to Publish Online or affects the design itself. In the meanwhile, we will go through the provided file.

Looking forward to your update!

Best,

Abhishek Rao

There is a difference in the way the frame is created.

The ones on Page 15 are using the Corner options to control the angle of the corners.

The ones on page 13 are actual shapes and you can't edit the corners as you can on page 13.

Try using the Pen tool on the Frame on page 15 - this will break the relation with the 'corner option' and make the frame an actual beveled frame shape.

See if that fixes it.
