Publish Online Multiple Buttons on one page states that show which button is "on"

I have a layout with too much text so I set up multiple buttons 1-4 with each button paird to a multi-state object containing the overset text. I wish to be able to display which button is selected or "on".

I only see a Normal, Rollover, Click.

I want the button to remain "On" when clicked until another button is clicked so the presenter "know's" whether they are on the 1st., 2nd., 3rd., or 4th button and can toggle to any 4 buttons.

Thank you, Linda

Hey Linda, you could also set that up using Show/Hide Buttons and Forms. I use a similar technique in this tutorial that you may find useful. I have it queued up where I demo that method. https://youtu.be/KKLSieK686g?t=2063

@Angelo Montilla Wooooo this is exactly what I was looking for when searching online. Another video of yours came up which was also helpful. Will give this a go. Thank you

You'd have to put the buttons in the states and change the one you want to appear differently in each state. If you're doing a lot of this, I highly recommend this free extension which removes a lot of the pain points of working with MSOs.

Thank you Bob,

I was inodated with text changes all day and will give this a shot next week...

I'm new to InDesign Publish and have not found a tutiral on how to specifically do what you're suggesting.

So I'm thinking I would group the set of 4 "button" artwork, changing which button is highlighted to match the featured page of text for each MSO to "simulate" the selection.

That is correct. And again, please download that extension...it will make this a piece of cake instead of an exercise in futility. Natively, there's no easy way to do it and when you copy/paste button into a state, they lose go to state functions. OSA, removes those pain points and adds other capabilities.

And no, I have no financial interest in Automatication and this extension is free.
