Punctuation marks to the left

I am having problems with punctuation marks and bullets moving to the wrong side. The text does not appear as Arabic or Hebrew and going from right to left. It is only the punctuation marks and the bullets that mess up. It happens both when I write directly in InDesign and when I import word files. I've seen others having the same problem but can not find the solution. Any suggestions here? Thanks for your help.
