No, this functionality does not exist in InDesign. But you can easily open any picture in Photoshop (or Illustrator) from the link panel to modify it. No need after to recreate the link, it will update immediately in InDesign.

This function does not exist in InDesign, BUT …

InDesign supports Photoshop’s Layer Compositions. You can add a correction layer in Photoshop, save the PSD with this layer as layer comp and use that layer comp in InDesign and use the same image without this layer in another position with another layer comps.

I think ist is even more than Quark can. In my experience Quark’s corrections are very limitted and cannot be compared to Photoshops pssibilites.

https://pdf.wondershare.com/indesign/quarkxpress-vs-indesign.html

-WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) page layout editing

Hi @Mausi8966 , The review is a bit strange—it reads like the reviewer has never used InDesign—there are a few non sequiturs in the pros and cons.

Of course InDesign is WYSIWYG, it has complete color management and soft proofing capabilities. It allows you to work with RGB, Hex, Lab, CMYK, and Mixed Ink native colors, and make color managed conversions between the spaces—not sure what they mean by no Hex color support. The No Flash SWF file import option as an Xpress con doesn’t make any sense—Flash doesn’t exist anymore.

Assets are not sharable without being connected to Creative Cloud also makes no sense. You can share assets via any other file sharing service, e.g. Dropbox—there’s a built-in remote file sync’ing feature (see the Creative Cloud Files folder), but you don’t have to use it.

There’s no need for image editing inside of the layout because InDesign and Photoshop are fully integrated. All it takes is an Option-click to get Photoshop’s full image editing capabilities.

No there is not. You can only ask this features on indesign.uservoice.com , but nobody can say it when it will be added.

Quark and Affinity rules with this. Sad but true.

Remember, never say you can't do something in InDesign, it's always just a question of finding the right workaround to get the job done. © David Blatner

Frankly, I'd rather have the integrated operation with Photoshop (one click-through away, with automatic link update) than any built-in tools of about smartphone capability.

CC is a set of tools for a number of good reasons.
