"s" is replaced by "f" when opening on different computer

Hi there,

when opening an indesign (v18...) file on a different computer (both mac) the "s" in the text is reflaced by "f" (see screenshot; it should read "Onlienshop cross-border). I have tried replacing the font and I also tried turning on/off Ligatures. It affects several documents.

Any ideas?

Many thanks!

I agree with @Willi Adelberger

Another possible cause: When you open the file on another computer, it may have the same font but a different version of the font.

Choose Type > Fine/Replace Font on both computers, if necessary click More Info, and look at the version of the font as shown below:

Changes in such things can change between versions.

Thank you,  @Willi Adelberger and @Steve Werner .

I am checking the open type settings at the moment. Will let you know the outcome.

That is not a f it is a long-s.ſ Many ligatures with ſ+s or ſ+z are still alive like ß.

You might have used in your OpenType settings a variant which will use ſ instead of s.
