Re-ordering (customize the order of) the tools in Indesign's toolbar

Hello Community,

Can you put your tools in a custom order in Indesign 2023 (18.5.2)'s tool box?

Unlike Photoshop's ability to easily customize the ORDER in which the tools appear, Indesign seems to only let you play with how the bar looks, not the SPECIFIC ORDER of the tools from top to bottom.

On line and in this forum, there seems to be only instructions to toggle back and forth with vertical vs horizonla view—which is not the question

I am hoping someone can let me know HOW to you put your specific tools in a specific custom order in Indesign 2023 (18.5.2)'s tool box.

Many thanks & please do not tell me to double click on the double arrow to make the vertical and horizontal view option—that is not the question.

No. The toolbar is fixed.

It would be a nice feature to be able not just to rearrange it, but omit (or "fold in") some tools any given user doesn't typically need. But ID doesn't have this feature.

You got my vote. I would like a customizable toolbar, too.

I don't think Adobe pays much attention to InDesign anymore (does anyone at Adobe even use it?)... I would LOVE to be able to rearrange the tools in the tools palette. I'm always selecting the page tool by mistake because it's right under the selection tool. So many things would improve InDesign, but they've given up.
