I'm experiencing this with CC2018, too. Has anyone found a solution?

Experiencing what? Found a solution to what? Your subject is very vague. Please be specific, provide screen grabs if you think they will help, and provide the version of InDesign, your OS, and your OS version. Tell us why you are doing, what you are expecting, and what you are getting instead.

I didn't realize that it was branched.
I was using InDesign CC 2018 on a Windows 7 PC to work on a long document. I had a table in multiple text frames over several pages. This document was originally created in CS6 and I had no problems adding or deleting columns or rows before. Now that I'm using CC 2018 to edit the document, I've only experienced one strange issue and that was while adding rows to the table. The text frame was nearly the length of the page and the table filled the frame completely before spilling over into the next page's text frame without a problem until I added a row. Suddenly, the rest of the text frame below the added row disappeared from the current page and moved on to the next page. There was blank space that I could not get the table to fill anymore. I ended up recreating the table in order to get it to work.

There's an option in tables to Keep With Next Row
It's likely that the table was setup with this so the table would stay on the same column/page
Also adjust the Max Height of the table might help.
Hard to know without seeing it.

Someone branched your message from another discussion and it is not clear what you are asking. Can you please elaborate? Thanks!

Tables seemingly-randomly jump over to the next threaded text container, even though they'd fit in the first avaialble one and don't have any Keep options or Start paragraph settings applied. Editing the table's content will flick it back to the previous page, but the next edit will push it to the next page again, the next edit will push it back to the previous one, and so on et cetera …
Try switching Paragraph settings > Span columns to *None*. Seemed to work for me. Trade off is now you have to manage column numbers in those text text containers.
