Can't seem to get this right. I did a print version of an .indd file which has blank pages in it. Now I need to do an EPub file and REMOVE the blank pages. The page layout is single pages but when I go to remove a blank ID tells me there are objects on that page ( even though there are not) If I choose yes the blank remains. I tried this using allow pages to shuffle and allow selected spread to shuffle. Same result

Fixed layout or reflowable? What version of InDesign?

Even an empty frame counts as content.

OK but how do I remove pages from the middle of the book?

Really doesn't matter what I export the file to, I just need to be able to remove pages that were left blank in the version made for print keeping the same layout but without the blanks in between.

I depends on what’s on those “blank” pages. If text is somehow flowing through a frame there, deleting the page will accomplish nothing. So, what’s on those pages?

Nothing but the pages are connected thru threaded text frames, I would think If I break the threads I can delete? If so how to do?

I’m not sure what that means. Are there text frames on those pages? Does text flow them? If so, how are they blank? Did you put a page/column break in there?

Yes page column breaks on the blanks

Without seeing the layout it’s tough to say. Easiest thing is to remove the breaks or shrink up the frame to next to nothing, drag it to the next page’s pasteboard and then delete the blank page. If you only have a few of them won’t take long.

Sorry I did not get back to you yesterday got real busy, the indd was created from PLACED text from a word document so whatever blanks were in the word doc they were converted to indd text. All I need to do is to remove the blank pages while retaining the text on all other pages, the original placed text was for a printed book, this now is for an epub and I need all blanks removed.
I hope that is the info you need to help me .
thx

Nothing’s changed as far as my advice goes unless all you have is text and nothing but text (in which case I’d go reflowable, but I digress). If that’s the case just find the page breaks and delete them. You could do that with a find/change, I think.

To add to Bob's excellent advice, presumably you're using InDesign Paragraph (and Character) Styles?

No word imported style

Fixed layout means the layout is fixed. Blank pages are in like in the document file. Use reflowable format ans ALL blank pages are automatically removed. So make a copy of yir "print"-dokument for using as a "ebook"-document.
