Hi All,

Can anyone please explain how to create a repeating section control in Indesign (similar to that in Word)?. I am trying to create a form in Indesign, and I have created an Information Table for names of people and Comments table, with 2 columns. Now, I want to repeat the info entered into the Information table onto the left side column of the comments table, so that the corresponding cell can be used by that particular person.

I know how to set this up in MS Word, and was hoping I can do something similar in Indesign as well, as it is far more elegant.

I'm not 100% certain I understand exactly what you want, but if two (or more) form fields have the same name, whatever is entered in one of them will appear in both (or all).

Hi John

What did you mean by the same name for the form fields?

Each form field has to have an unique name. If you place form fields with the same name on multiple pages they will be filled automatically with the content of the first form field with this name.

Hi adobe_newbie18;

I'm also unclear on what you need. A screen shot (or sketch) would help.

Two questions:

  1. Do the fields should be filled in Indesign or in an interactive PDF?
  2. Will there be several instances of your "information table" on a page or will there be always only one?

Hi Vinny38

As you guessed, I am trying to create an Interactive PDF, where the user needs to enter data in one cell in the Table, which would reflect in all of the corresponding data cells.
