Replace Text & Strikethrough Tools Unresponsive in InDesign Review on Safari 18.0.1

Community Beginner ,
Oct 10, 2024 Oct 10, 2024

I'm experiencing issues with both the "Replace Text" and "Strikethrough Text" tools in InDesign Review when accessing it via Safari 18.0.1. I’m unable to select text in my online review document to use either tool, which is preventing me from making necessary changes. Everything else seems to be working fine, but these tools are unresponsive.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? Could this be a bug with Safari 18.0.1, or is there a workaround that I can use to enable text selection for these tools in the review panel?

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your assistance!

Hi Abhishek,

Thank you for your response and suggestions! I was able to solve the issue by disabling "Enable content blockers" in Safari. Here’s how I did it:

  1. In Safari, go to Settings for assets.adobe.com.
  2. Uncheck Enable content blockers.

After doing this, both the "Replace Text" and "Strikethrough Text" tools started working correctly in InDesign Review. It seems the content blockers were interfering with the functionality.

Thanks again for your help, and I hope this solution is helpful for others

Hi @paulo24954977td4t,

I'm sorry to hear you're facing issues with the "Replace Text" and "Strikethrough Text" tools in InDesign Review on Safari. I understand how frustrating that can be, especially when it's preventing you from making important changes.

Could you please let us know which version of InDesign you're currently using and the details of your operating system?

As for the issue, this could potentially be related to Safari 18.0.1's compatibility. Please try the following and update us:

1. Clear your browser cache and restart Safari.

2. Try accessing the review in a different browser, such as Chrome or Firefox, to see if the tools work there.

3. Update Safari or revert to a previous stable version if possible.

Let us know if this helps, or feel free to share more details, and we’ll do our best to assist!

Best,
Abhishek Rao

I am also facing this problem. When I first opened the Asset reviewer, all assets were zoomed in 250%. While I fixed that, I don't have icons for strikethrough, can't comment to specific lines, and can't tag others (although the @ symbol to tag cocreators with is still present). I attempted to allow pop-ups/intrusive comments on all Adobe sites via Chrome.

Running Sequoia 15.0.1 (started seeing issues after that update)
Chrome Version 129.0.6668.100 (Official Build) (arm64)
